How we choose & score products

TorqueScout exists to answer one question: which of these should I actually buy? Instead of a plain list of products, every item gets a full technical spec sheet, an editorial 0-10 scorecard, and — the part we care about most — a side-by-side comparator so you can weigh trade-offs yourself.

The scoring axes

Every product is scored from 0 to 10 on six axes: power, runtime, portability, durability, ease of use and value. Scores are computed from each product's own specs relative to the range of products we carry in that category — they are editorial judgment, not a manufacturer claim, and we label them as such everywhere they appear.

What "sample product" means

While we're building out a category, you may see listings badged Sample product. These exist to preview the site's layout and comparator before we plug in real Amazon listings and affiliate links — their buy button points to a generic Amazon search rather than a specific product page.
